Looking for a sun-drenched, culturally rich St. Lucia vacation this summer? An exotic resort far from the tourist hoards, where the smell of chocolate, freshly stomped from the Cacao bean, wafts by on warm, Island breezes. A true and authentic St. Lucia experience – where restored colonial villas are set amongst a jungle of fresh and edible fruits that you can pick for yourself. A chocolate estate bordering one of the most stunning geological creations on Planet Earth – St. Lucia’s Petit Piton.
Welcome to Fond Doux Holiday Plantation, a character-rich property for families, couples and friends. A home away from home
Plantation Tour with Cocoa Dancing: You’ll explore this 250 year old working plantation, experiencing the day-to-day running of the cocoa plantation which includes harvesting, drying, grinding, dancing and rolling the cocoa, including the formation of the finished chocolate product. Yes – you will be jumping in a large pot and dancing the cocoa beans, much like wine stomping! Past guests include Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla Parker-Bowles.
Marine Snorkeling Excursion: Travel up the coast of St. Lucia we anchor at one of the most dramatic spots for snorkeling in the Caribbean - Anse Chastanet Reef. The reef falls away from 20-140 ft in a unique coral wall that continues from Anse Chastanet Bay around the headland of Grand Caille.
Zip lining: This adventure has you gliding through the dramatic rainforest tree canopy. You’ll enjoy breathtaking views as you fly through the rainforest from platform to platform.
Sulfur Springs Tour: A “MUST DO” activity is to submerge yourself in the steaming hot spring, and then coat your skin with the incredible soft and delicate volcanic muds. The feeling the muds can give is exhilarating, an experience not to be missed and just step from our plantation. Further up from the sulfur springs are stone carvings that depict different gods, goddesses and other historic artifacts from the era of the native Arawak Indian.
Bats at Dusk Tour: A short afternoon cruise from the town of Soufriere you’ll anchor up to the ‘Bat Cave’ right near the famous ‘Pitons’ mountains. The boat will be very close to the cliff and right under the cave where hundreds of bats appeared at dusk. The boat cannot go in the cave but you can hear and see the bats. The views of the Pitons are dramatic. The fruit eating bats are famous on the island and the view is spectacular. This tour is part of the snorkel tour, and concludes the day’s activities.
