Experience Tranquility in our St Lucia Cottages

Fond Doux Holiday Plantation is a 19th century eco-friendly colonial plantation nestled in the heart of St Lucia. The resort is situated amidst a 250 yr old working plantation and features an assortment of 12 uniquely crafted cottages, two onsite restaurants and a collage of outdoor swimming pools. We are conveniently located just minutes away from the island’s main attractions namely, The Sulphur Springs ‘The Caribbean’s only drive in volcano’, The Pitons and the best diving sites on island all within the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage Site.


We are also in close proximity to the island’s international airport, offering a scenic 45 minute drive to the plantation.


We accommodate all types of travel; business, honeymoon/wedding and family vacations! The ambience is perfect for the stressed out businessman, the getaway wedding/honeymoon and a fun-filled family vacation. A mere glance out the cottage door evokes a tranquil feeling for some but others; it is a journey into the land of adventure!


We offer our guests a true plantation experience, as they are able to actively engage in the day-to-day running of the cocoa plantation, which includes Cocoa Harvesting, Cocoa Drying, Cocoa Grinding, Cocoa Dancing and Cocoa Rolling. The guest gains a true appreciation for the finished chocolate product! In fact when Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla Parker-Bowles, officialy toured Fond Doux in March 2008, they engaged in those activities! It is no wonder that the Guardian Newspaper has rated us Number 2 Plantation Retreat in the world!


We boast the fact that we have taken Eco Tourism to another level. Not only are we the only true organic estate on the island but we also the only resort in St Lucia that engages in true eco-building practices and cultural preservation. This is evident through our practice of identifying intricate French Colonial wooden buildings more than 100 years old slated for demolition, which we dismantle and transport to the estate, where they are restored as guest accommodation and stand as monuments of the island’s rich colonial history.

Balconies with views


Villas open to balconies with garden views and feature patios and kitchenettes (not all rooms have kitchenettes – ask when booking). Other amenities on property include complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access at the Front Office and complimentary high-speed (wired) & Wi-Fi Internet access by the triple pool deck.


Know Before You Go


  • Fond Doux caters to couples and caters to singles.
  • Guests must be at least 18 years old to check in at this property.
  • There are no room charges for children 10 years old and younger who occupy the same room as their parents or guardians, using existing bedding.
  • Onsite parking is free for guests only for the duration of their stay.

Fond Doux Holiday Plantation offers 12 cottages. Rooms are equiped with phones, in-room safes, refrigerators and coffee/tea makers. Bathrooms include showers, complimentary toiletries, and hair dryers. Rooms feature balconies with garden views. Separate sitting areas, minibars, and sofa beds are also included. Extra towels/bedding and wake-up calls can be requested. Cribs (infant beds) and rollaway beds are also available. Guestrooms at Fond Doux Holiday Plantation are accessible via exterior corridors. Housekeeping is provided.
