Congratulations to Mr. Darren Sammy on his appointment as the BMW Brand Ambassador!!

Darren Sammy – BMW Brand Ambassador. The only one in the West Indies region!

Darren Sammy has made history. He is the first sports personality from the West Indies to be given this prestigious honor. Sammy has been presented with a BMW Sports Convertible by local BMW representatives Ultimate Automobiles.

BMW through its local agency Ultimate Automobiles has chosen St. Lucian cricketer Darren Sammy to be its first brand ambassador in the Caribbean, a moment that has made Managing Director Mario Reyes an extremely proud St. Lucian.

“Darren Sammy is the first West Indian to ever be appointed on behalf of the BMW Group as a Brand Ambassador outside Germany. Typically sportsmen like golfers Bernhard Langer and Martin Kaymar and Rugby’s Alex Cordisio, have been endorsed as brand ambassadors for BMW” said Mr. Reyes.

Darren Julius Garvey Sammy (born 20 December 1983) is a Saint Lucian cricketer who plays international cricket for the West Indies. He is a right-handed batsman and a fast-medium bowler. On making his One Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh in 2004, Sammy became the first person from the island of St. Lucia to play international cricket. Three years later he made his Test debut against England, taking 7/66 which were the best bowling figures for a West Indian in his first Test since Alf Valentine in 1950. Sammy was appointed West Indies captain in October 2010. He scored his maiden Test century in May 2012 during a match against England.

Sammy also captained West Indies to the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 victory against Sri Lanka, their first major trophy for 8 years. They won the ICC Champions trophy against England in 2004.[1]

At the launch of the Caribbean Premier League Sammy was announced as a franchise player for the 2013 tournament.

Situated on a 250 year old working plantation overlooking St Lucia’s world-famous twin Pitons, the resort is surrounded by tropical rainforest with over 30 varieties of delicious fruit trees.
